God's power is greater than the power of alcohol or drugs in my life.
God in this moment I ask for your help.
Help me to have personal ongoing power over my lower desires.
I know that without this daily God-given power -- I will lose control.
I ask in prayer for a Divine intervention.
Touch and uplift my personal control over momentary temptation.
I pray for immediate help, bring me spiritual as well as human support.
I pray for 10 times the control to abstain.
I pray for God's Will in my own willpower.
I choose to experience the high of sobriety and the rewards it offers,
through a clear head and rational thought.
I experience the reward of realizing that this moment,
I have won the overcoming battles of this day.
God and I have a combined power.
Combined power that can not be overcome and can not be defeated.
I actively work with God's power that does not know relapse.
I pray for protection against my former self and its ways of living.
If I have succumbed to this in the past and am now amidst the wreckage of my life, I know in faith that with God's daily help I can and will rebuild my life anew.
Life with God carries a promise given to me of success.
I choose God's happiness now.
I choose to work with God to rebuild my life, my career, and my relationships.
I choose only alcohol and drug-free associations with others.
Because I choose life over the sickness and death associated with
substance abuse.
I ask God to heal me and satisfy my cravings.
I pray that even in healing I will never forget that I have an
addiction, an addiction that has the power to harm myself and others.
I pray that I continually make a spiritual commitment to new life,
that will never allow entrance, to substances that poison living.
My life is now filled with opportunity that knows no end.
The new party is alcohol and drug-free, filled with sober people committed to our
new lifestyle.
Daily I support, and am supported by, people strongly committed to sobriety.
Motivate me daily, dear God, to attend A.A. or N.A.
Daily I support, and am supported by, my strong faith in God.
God IS my help in every need!
MORNING PRAYER
God, direct my thinking today so that it be empty of self pity, dishonesty, self-will, self-seeking and fear. God, inspire my thinking, decisions and intuitions. Help me to relax and take it easy. Free me from doubt and indecision. Guide me through this day and show me my next step. God, show me
what I need to do to take care of any problems. I ask all these things that I may be of maximum
service to you and my fellow man. In the spirit of the Steps I pray. AMEN

NIGHT PRAYER
God, forgive me where I have been resentful, selfish, dishonest or afraid today. Help me to not keep anything to myself but to discuss it all openly with another person - show me where I owe an
apology and help me make it. Help me to be kind and loving to all people. Use me in the mainstream of life, God. Free me of worry, remorse or morbid (sick) reflections that I may be of usefulness to others. AMEN

Third Step Prayer
"God, I offer myself to Thee - to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them
may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always!"

Seventh Step Prayer
"My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you now remove from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my usefulness to you
and my fellows. Grant me strength, as I go out from here, to do your bidding. Amen."

A Prayer for Sobriety (Submitted)
Dear God, Thank you for this day.
Help me to stay clean and sober, just for this day.
Help me to recognize Your hand in all things.
Thank you for the blessings I understand and the ones I don't.
Thank you for the miracles I see and the ones I don't.
Thank you for Your Spirit that always abides in me.
I ask that I may be with Your Spirit today.
Cleanse my mind of all darkness and fill it with love and light.
Let me be o.k. with this day no matter what it brings.
Thank You for everything that's in my life and everything that's not.
12 Step Prayer Book Sobriety Prayer
If I speak in the tongues of men and even of angels,
but have not sobriety, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries
and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains
but have not sobriety, I am nothing. If I give away all that I have,
and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not sobriety, I gain nothing.
When I am sober, I am patient and kind. When I am sober, I am not jealous
nor boastful, nor arrogant or rude. When I am sober, I do not insist on my own
way. When I am sober, I am not irritable or resentful.
I do not rejoice at wrongs as I used to do but rejoice in what is right.
When I am sober, I can bear all things, believe in all things,
hope all things, and endure all things.
Sobriety never ends and never fails.
When I was using, I spoke like an arrogant child, thought like
a stubborn child, and reasoned like a rebellious child.
When I chose sobriety for my life, I gave up my childish ways.
So faith, hope, love and sobriety abide, but for me,
the most important has to be sobriety, for without it,
I cannot have the other three, nor can I ever have the serenity I yearn to possess.
THE TWELVE STEPS
1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand God.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these deficits of character.
7. Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understand God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

THE TWELVE PROMISES
1. If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are halfway through.
2. We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.
3. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
4. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace.
5. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others.
6. That feeling useless and self-pity will disappear.
7. We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.
8. Self-seeking will slip away.
9. Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change.
10. Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us.
11. We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.
12. We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.

HELP ME TURN MY LIFE AROUND
Dear God, I come to You with my
human self. I come to Your power and Your
glory. I am tired of doing things the way I have been doing
them. Please guide me and help me to break the habits
I so wish to break, this morning. Infill me with your power and clear direction.
Fill me with peace of mind and fill me
with radiant health throughout my body.
I am Your child, God. I have faith in Your spirit with me
to inspire me and to guide me - to help me over any challenge that seems
to be blocking me and to get to the point where I have in Your power to
break bad habits.
I pray this begins RIGHT NOW and that I am
no longer on a fixed course going down the wrong road.
May I be stopped in your tracks and redirected with the energy, motivation,
and power of the Christ. May I have the power to turn around.
May I have the power to make a quantum
shift and jump in my life.
In Jesus Christ's name. Thank You, God, Amen
COMMIT TO CHANGE
Dear God, infill me. I now consent
to Your Mind and thoughts within my human mind. My
human mind is filled with holiness and right thought.
God, You are the all and all in all my ways;
the only power in my every action.
There is no power apart from God in me, and I know it.
Through the power of Jesus Christ, I decree for myself: I am one
with infinite harmony which inspires me, lifts me, and
raises me on the wings of personality soaring
above its former self.
My old behavior patterns and habits are transmuted
into a higher way of living. The former destructive energies are no
more. I take possession of God life, and it takes possession of me.
I give my life to You, God, NOW in the silence of prayer.
In Jesus Christ's name I pray ... Amen
AFFIRMATIONS
I can do all things, including this thing, through Christ which strengthens me.
I am filled with a spiritual strength of will power that is greater than my own.
I have the God-given power to walk away, and to avoid what harms me.
God empower me to have new self-discipline for the good of myself and of others.
God's power is greater than the power of alcohol (or drugs) in my life.
God and I have combined power over alcohol (or drugs) that cannot be defeated.
With God, I can face this challenge and be triumphant.
With God's help, I now take the reins of control and guide my life to higher ground.
I am brave and bold with the knowledge that God is with me. Therefore, I am not subject to any lower opposing power.
I turn my control over to God. God is in perfect control. Therefore, I am in control.
The limitless potentialities of God are quickened in me, and I am established in self-mastery and success.
I am one with God. Alcohol and drugs have no power over me, because they have no power over God. God infills me now, regenerating my physical body away from its former addictions.
I reinvent my life, replacing bad habits with good habits and become a new person in Christ.
