While it is true that no journey is mediocre to the soul, sometimes our journeys become mediocre to our minds, when we repeat the sameness of yesterday over, and over again. We are in this life to live out our dreams, not our history. Too many people in this life are focused on bad events that happened once upon a time. They seem locked in, or even trapped by the memories. God says to you—you are MORE than your history. We learn wisdom from failure much more than from success. I often tell the story about the hundred-year-old woman had visited my church in the 1990's, wearing a T-shirt saying, “God's not finished with me yet!” We must never say that we are finished because of something that happened yesterday. Reverend James Trapp once said, “If you want to predict the future—then you need to invent it.” In life what we see depends mainly on what we look for. It is the little moments in life that makes life big. When we approach life without fear we discover its full joys. Those that walk with God, realize that God is on both sides of them, behind them, in front of them, and within them with full protection and strength. Only when we are no longer afraid, do we begin to fully live. We often discover what a person will do by finding out what a person will NOT do. God gives you the overcoming power to accomplish great results. With God you can predict the future—a future that will be great, greater than anything that you have known in your personal history. God will give you the courage, strength, and determination if you agree to let go of negative habits and limiting circumstances of the past. You will be able to claim your future with God’s power. In Romans 9:17 our Bible states, "I have raised you up for the very purpose of showing My power in you.” You realize that God's not done with you yet. There is a Divine plan for you. Intelligent life is within every cell of your body. Yet your attitudes and actions determine how you will fulfill the Divine design. You cooperate with God by believing in brighter tomorrows and walking forward with full hope and positive anticipation. You partner with God to bring about the Divine design without fear. You become a responsible partner of God, as you aspire to your dreams instead of expiring in the negative events in your history.
