Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." John 21:5, 6 Every day, Positive Christianity receives prayers from people that have lost something. It could be a material object, a solution to a problem, another person in a relationship – or they themselves feel lost. In God everything of value is found. In the above Bible quote, the disciples thought all was lost. They used all their energy and were tired after a long day of trying to find the fish. But no fish. They were giving up. Jesus said to them go out again, and cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some. They protested – been there done that, they said. Reluctantly, and complaining, they went out one last time, and the catch was so big it could've broken the vets and sunk the boat. It was God's new discovered good at the flood stage. The Bible is filled with stories of humans that have given up, after a long period of looking for what they sought. And God says, after touching the situation, – look one more time! Perhaps nothing can make us feel more in disorder than losing something – a billfold, a purse, a key, an important paper, or a keepsake. Our first reaction may be to simply panic, and then feelings of disorder abound, as we rush around in a frenzy trying to find what is lost. However, there is a tried and true prayer that can be used at the first inkling that something has been misplaced, whether a material object or something more important is missing from our lives. Nothing is lost in Spirit, God finds this, or provides something better. Praying and believing this, we tune in to God's Spirit for guidance. Perhaps we do not remember where we last saw the missing object, BUT GOD DOES. Instead of frantically searching—we pray, and follow God's instruction. This prayer helps put us in touch with objects that are missing, or important things that are missing from our lives. I have even used this prayer to find a right parking place. Often, we feel out of kilter as a human being because we do not know what to do in some situation. We can feel lost – but then we are found. Nothing disturbs the calm peace of your soul when you are walking with God. As a child of God, you claim power and dominion over your life. Although appearances may suggest otherwise, you know that deeper spiritual truths are at work. You realize that there is a direct relationship between your thoughts and beliefs and what you experience in life. God has created you so that you determine what you think, you believe, and do, so that nothing can disturb the calm peace of your soul. If some situation seems perplexing to you today, choose to think thoughts of God finding solutions. If you hear a negative comment, or if you're treated unfairly, you remember the dominion that God has given you. You think in a positive way, and your positive thoughts help you to live the life that God created you to live. When you have what you believe is an urgent need, you want a quick solution—but panic is NOT that solution. Panic actually blocks your guidance. In the midst of a difficult situation, you may lose sight of the fact that what is the fastest may not be what is best. Instead of racing around in a panic begin to calm yourself and open yourself spiritually to a higher understanding. You know that the answer to your prayer is already on its way. You were lost but now you're found. You are an island of calm in the midst of a choppy sea. God understands your need and you rest in the knowledge that the Divine solution will appear in the right way and at the right time. You wait patiently for you know that God is working for your highest good. When you know in your heart that God is in charge of every aspect of your life, spiritual patience comes easy and naturally. It is an investment of your faith in God. That that seems hidden to you is not hidden to God. Open yourself to God's help now. POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER: Dear God, I pray that you will help me find what is lost. I may know the name of what I've lost, and maybe I don't know exactly what it is that's missing. But I realize something is missing. Help me to find it. Help me to identify it. Help me to create it. Motivate me not to give up in my search.
