Penney One of the key questions in every human’s life that is seeking a spiritual path is this, “Am I treating all others the way that I would wish to be treated?" The Golden Rule, as stated by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, can be the great harmonizer in your life every day. If it is right for you to expect treatment that is fair, respectful, courteous, and understanding, then bring these qualities into your actions and attitudes toward others. Today, treat those you meet with respect and goodwill. You will send out thoughts of kindness and harmony, knowing that you are contributing positively not only to the other person’s day, but to your own day as well. Especially concentrate on those with which you have had challenges in the past. As you make the Golden Rule your pattern for living, you discover a new pattern of harmony with others in every aspect of your life. When dealing with another in business you do not try to get the best of them. You seek to deal fairly so that all may profit well. You realize that life is not a win-lose seesaw of up and down. You give first knowing that the return of equality of kindness will come back to you. When you must argue, you do so with a win-win attitude. Always seek to see the other person's point of view, as you desire, that they see yours. You make a list of the way that you would like to be treated, then you check off the qualities that you are expressing in dealing with others. You make the spiritual decision to always treat other people in this higher way, even if they are unable at this time spiritually, to give you back the same treatment. As a spiritual person you choose to walk the high path of God, realizing that we have all walked the low path far too long. You are grateful to God for a new and a higher way to live, and you find it as you treat people the way you wish to be treated, that the world around you responds in positive ever-expanding ways. POSITIVE DAILY PRAYER: Dear God, help me to first and foremost always remember to treat others the way that I wish to be treated. Empower me to treat them equally in thought and action. I pray that I dedicate my life to being for others, what I hope they will be for me.
